Down Under Sail Magazine
The Boys from Down Under Sail, who report on grass roots sailing events, approached me wanting a brand that portrayed sailing in a fun, youthful and contemporary way, without being pretentious (as sailing is often viewed). Focusing on water, surf culture and lifestyle similar to a surf brand I created the mark that represents this subculture with a simple yacht in the shape of Australia, with hand written typography. After great success in reporting on sailing events around the country the boys wanted to expand the business by creating an annual publication focusing on the sport with a focus on grass roots, very much a niche in the market place. Again, I created the brand and design of the publication, print and digital promotion.
